New Promethean? Here's Help.
You can display document cameras on the boards, but if your document camera does not have an HDMI output you'll need an adapter. We are purchasing those. In the meantime, display your document camera on the wall or whiteboard.
To connect a Promethean interactively with your laptop, you need to download ScreenShare software called "ActivePanel". There is software for Windows or Mac, as a Chrome (or Edge) extension, and for mobile phones, all from here: https://share.one.prometheanworld.com/
Once you have that software installed, you need to connect. Here is a guide to doing that through the "Screen Share" menu you get by clicking the little arrow at the bottom center of the screen. This will work if you are connected via USB-C or HDMI. You then have to get a code from the Promethean and enter that code on your computer. You'll see (in the guide) how a connected device shows up with a name, and how you can then select that name from the Promethean to begin the screen share and allow touch screen access.
If it doesn't work, you may need to update your firmware (that's also a link on the guide). Ask for Bram's help if you try this and it doesn't work.
Prometheans can access the Internet with built-in web browsers, and can be connected to laptops to over networks (no need for long HDMI or USB-C cables). The Ethernet connections will only work once we have adapters, and the Wireless connections will only work using our Mobile Wireless Hotspots from our teacher laptops (for now).
Until OITA approves using SPS-WIFI, we can't use that. We can in the meantime use our Mobile Wireless Hotspots to connect to projectors. You need to teach the Promethean to remember your network SSID and password. Ask Bram to configure this for you - email him when you're free (options are period 3(a), 5(a), lunch, crew or after school).
OITA supports network connections to Promethean Boards, but they need Ethernet => USB adapters (the boards don't have Ethernet ports) and you need to make sure that the Ethernet port on your wall is "live". OITA has asked that individual teachers request network connection support for Prometheans using this link: https://springfieldpublicschools.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/1908/Portal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=33447
